Regular Season Round 22: Cantu - Urspring 69-72

There was a small surprise when top-ranked GermanUrspring (0-0) edged on the road winless Italian Cantu (0-0) 72-69 on Sunday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Cantu was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 22-18 charge of Urspring, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 23 Cantu turnovers. Czech forward Vaclav Nosek (201-2008) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Latvian forward Rets Veinbergs (202-2008) chipped in 11 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Urspring players scored in double figures. At the losing side Simone Ventura responded with 25 points and 4 steals and Luca Rossi scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Urspring went down to first position due to points difference, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Cantu .
